Star Grade System
The Star Grade System is one of the key ways to enhance the power and value of equipment in Myth of Yggdrasil. By using this system, players can improve the quality of their items, gaining various bonuses that help fine-tune their character builds. The Star Grade system not only enhances the basic attributes of items but also offers players a crucial opportunity to complement their builds. By selecting star bonuses wisely, players can fine-tune their equipment to match their playstyle, creating more strategic and personalized builds.
Item Types for Star Grade
Five categories of items can be enhanced using the Star Grade system:
- Weapons: Increases physical and magical attack bonuses.
- Armor: Increases HP bonuses.
- Shields: Improves physical defense bonuses.
- Capes: Increases magical defense bonuses.
- Footwear: Boosts SP bonuses.
The bonuses depend on the refinement level of the item.
Item Quality Levels
Items in the Star Grade system are classified into five quality levels, represented by colored stars:
- White (No Star): Basic quality without additional improvements.
- Green Star (1 Star): First improvement with enhanced bonuses.
- Blue Star (2 Stars): Higher quality with better attributes.
- Purple Star (3 Stars): Superior quality with significantly improved bonuses.
- Gold Star (4 Stars): Maximum quality with the best possible attributes.
How to Identify Item Quality
There are three main ways to identify the quality of an item:
- On the Ground: Dropped items show a visual effect indicating their quality.
- In the Inventory: Items display a colored star to indicate their quality.
- Inspecting the Item: By right-clicking, you can see the number of stars showing the item’s quality.
Quality Improvement
To upgrade an item’s quality, players must use another item of the same quality. Catalysts can be used to increase the success rate. If the upgrade fails, only the materials are lost, not the equipment itself. Special items can be used to protect materials from loss during failures.
Note: The official NPC for upgrading quality will be available in future updates.
Obtaining Higher Quality Items
The chance of obtaining a higher-quality item when defeating monsters depends on the type of monster:
- Normal Monsters
- Elite Monsters
- Mini Bosses and Bosses
Defeating stronger enemies increases the chances of acquiring higher-quality items.
Star Bonuses and Set Bonuses
In addition to the basic quality bonuses, the Star Grade system offers:
-
Minor and Major Stars: Each item quality level grants a Minor Star. After collecting four Minor Stars, players unlock a Major Star. Bonus choices from Minor Stars cannot be repeated in Major Stars, encouraging strategic combinations.
-
Set Bonuses: Equipping five items of the same quality unlocks a Set Bonus, which is divided into levels such as Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. These set bonuses provide predefined attribute boosts based on the set level.
